Police have launched an appeal for information following a tanning shop on Teesside being ram raided. Tanique in Middlesbrough's York Road was attacked when a car ploughed into the shop causing extensive damage last night.

Photographs show the Grove Hill tanning shop and hair salon with the shutters broken and glass strewn across the path outside. Images also show police officers inside the building amid debris including plaster board off the walls and a door off the hinges lying on the ground.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: "Police received a report of a ram raid at a business premises on York Road in Middlesbrough around 11.45pm on Wednesday evening, September 24.
