ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Authorities say the Flock cameras helped Ithaca Police recover a stolen vehicle and arrest the suspect behind the wheel.

On September 23, around 8 p.m., a Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputy assigned to a joint Gun Involved Violence Elimination detail received a Flock Safety alert about a stolen Chevrolet Silverado entering Ithaca. The Rochester Police Department confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen.

Deputies and Ithaca Police found the truck in a restaurant parking lot on Elmira Road. When officers turned on their emergency lights, police say the driver tried to reverse out but was blocked by other vehicles. The suspect then ran from the scene but was quickly caught.
