A Dearborn man who terrorized Jewish parents and their preschool children during an antisemitic tirade outside Temple Beth El in Bloomfield Township was sentenced to almost three years in federal prison Wednesday.

The 34-month sentence of Hassan Chokr closes one legal chapter stemming from a December 2022 incident that drew national attention to ethnic intimidation and a rise in antisemitic incidents. Last year, the Anti-Defamation League tracked 9,354 incidents in the U.S, up 5 percent from a year earlier.
