Plans to offer more replacement care for unpaid carers across West Dunbartonshire is set to be discussed by the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) next week.

Members of the HSCP are being recommended to approve the proposals which would allocate two nights for carers with a “considerable” rating and three nights for those with a “critical” rating on their adult carer assessment and support plan (ACASP) sections.

Anyone over the age of 18 who provides regular care or intends to to another person is entitled to an ACASP in Scotland.

The person being cared for may have a physical or mental illness , long term condition, learning disability or an addiction and an ACASP assessment can allow the unpaid carer to think about how it may be impacting their life.
