EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Police say they charged an Evansville man with felony battery after he followed another driver home and attacked him over a road rage incident.

Officers were called to the area of Negley Avenue and Sherman Street to investigate an assault.

Police say they arrived and saw a victim with several serious injuries, and placed 24-year-old Kelten Byrley into custody.

Byrley told police he was at the golf course on Stringtown Road when he pulled out and cut the victim off. After an exchange of words at a stoplight, Byrley said he parked behind the victim at his home, got out of his vehicle, and punched him.

Police say the victim had lacerations on his forehead and nose, and a deep laceration through his entire tongue where he bit through it upon losing consciousness.
