EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Judith "Judie" Ann (Mattingly) Turner, co-founder of Turoni's Pizza and a cherished member of the Evansville community, passed away on September 23rd, at the age of 84.
Judie was born in Evansville on February 5, 1941, and graduated from Mater Dei High School in 1959. Alongside her late husband, Jerry, she established Turoni's Pizza in 1963, a community staple known for its unique decor featuring their antique finds.
Judie is survived by her three children, Lydia Mueller, Terri Calhoun, and Tom Turner, as well as her brothers, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jerry Turner.
A celebration of Judie's life will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Browning
