PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A Perry County woman was charged with four counts of attempted murder of a federal law enforcement officer following a shots fired incident.

Sheriff: Woman arrested after shooting at officers

Multiple police agencies, along with the DEA, were conducting a joint arrest operation for suspects with drug related charges in Hazard and Perry County.

During the operation, police said an incident ensured where Ashley Begley, 30, of Scuddy Mountain Road, fired upon DEA agents, an HPD/DEA task force officer, and a deputy with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office.

After she was taken into custody, Begley was taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
