‘Long-overlooked’ communities across Greater Manchester are to receive a share of a £5bn UK-wide investment from the Government over the next 10 years.
Pockets of deprivation in Salford , Wigan , Manchester, Tameside , Rochdale , Stockport , Bury and Bolton are among 169 areas which will each receive £20m in the shape of £2m every year for a decade, giving neglected neighbourhoods the chance to shape their own plan future.
All the Greater Manchester areas will also receive an immediate £1.5m injection to upgrade new public spaces with new green areas, as well as play, sports and leisure facilities.
