WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A community tradition is returning this Sunday in downtown Wichita.

From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., on Sunday, Sep. 28, Wichita Park & Recreation will host Open Streets ICT on Douglas Avenue. Two and a half miles of the street will be closed off to cars and all other motorized vehicles. Instead, the street will be full of people walking, biking, and skating.

This event is free and open to the entire community. Visitors can enjoy street food, live music, dancing, shopping, and free entertainment from over 125 local businesses.

According to Angela Buckner, Recreation Superintendent, Open Streets ICT launched in 2017 and was inspired by similar events in larger cities. It was designed to bring the community together and create fun for all ages.
