WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A therapy practice in Wichita reports being in danger of closing due to sudden changes Kansas made to Medicaid policy. The clinic’s owners are speaking out about what they believe caused the problem.

Jamaal Jones and Andrew Small run JST Therapy in Wichita, a clinic that provides therapy to nursing home residents. The clinic owners used to be social workers, but when the State of Kansas privatized peer support in 2023, they decided to start their own business.

“It’s people with shared life experience and providing mental health,” Small summarized.
