SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Dozens of community members gathered outside the downtown Sioux Falls library on Thursday for Save A Life Day, where local nonprofit organizations handed out free resources aimed at preventing overdoses and supporting health.
Emily’s Hope distributed Naloxone, a nasal spray medication that can reverse opioid overdoses.
Founder Angela Kennecke said the organization wanted to see the life-saving tool in as many hands as possible.
“All across the country in all 50 states, hundreds of organizations are giving out free Naloxone kits, and we’re giving out hundreds of these today,” said Kennecke. “We want everyone to carry Naloxone; it is a life-saving tool that we just think everybody should have.”
