Four people have been charged over the alleged stealing of a horse from a Dubbo property, following a search that led police more than 430 kilometres to addresses north of Newcastle.
On April 24, 2025, a 46-year-old woman put her mare horse to a paddock at a rural property on Hillside Drive, Dubbo.
The woman found that the horse was missing at 4.30pm the following day, April 25.
A crime scene was established, and police commenced an investigation into the incident.
On June 18, 2025, detectives executed three search warrants at addresses in Dubbo and Tea Gardens - 77km northeast of Newcastle:
Following further inquiries, on September 25, 2025, police charged the four people they spoke to during search warrants in June 2025.
They were all issued a court attendance notice to appear
