KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Chancellor Donde Plowman laid out her plan to “level up” the University of Tennessee campus and East Tennessee during her annual Flagship Address.
More students want to be a volunteer and rhat’s what Plowman was saying. In her address, she said retention is 92.4% this year.
“It is the best indicator of getting to graduation,” Plowman said. “So when I came here, our number, I believe, was 86.5%. So to have raised it that much is really an accomplishment.”
Plowman said what’s helping is making sure students have a personalized support team.
There’s more than 40,421 students enrolled in the fall semester and besides growing the number of students, Plowman said the campus is also expanding.
