A group of home invaders have terrified a Western Sydney family and stolen about $100,000 in cash and jewellery.

Up to six people forced themselves into the home on Sunny Pl in St Johns Park just after midnight on Friday.

At least one of them was dressed as a police outfit, Sunrise understands.

NSW Police acting detective inspector Ben Morgan clarified during a press conference on Friday that the offenders were not wearing official police uniforms when they terrorised the family, but “may have been wearing shirts with a police logo on it”.

“The occupants had been restrained, assaulted, and their premises ransacked.”

Blood could be seen splattered on the floor inside the home in footage taken after the incident.
