ROANE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Roane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after people found a body on Caney Creek Road, according to Public Information Officer Tim Phillips.

Phillips said a call came in Friday morning saying a man was lying in the road, and when deputies responded, they found a man dead. He added that another call came in about a vehicle in an embankment less than a mile from where the body was found. At this time, it’s believed the man and the vehicle are connected.

The man’s body has been sent to the medical examiner, Phillips said.

At this time, no more information, like the person’s name, has been released.
