LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A verdict has been reached in the trial of Keyshaun Stewart.
He was found guilty, but mentally ill, of murder, assault, possession of a handgun by a felon, wanton endangerment, persistent offender and fleeing police.
The case stems from a November 2021 ambush on the Watterson Expressway/I-264.
A construction worker, Fred O’Bannon, was killed and LMPD Sgt. Chris Lane was shot in the face, but he survived.

O'Bannon's daughter gave an impact statement on Friday.
"My dad should be here today because he has a grandson who will be one in December. I have a child who will be here in February and she won't get to meet him," Janiiya said.
Stewart will serve time in prison and receive mental health treatment.
