BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) — In Belmont County, a field trip took kids only five miles down the road, but 100 years back in time.

Every year, Bridgeport Middle School students spend a day at the original Blaine Hill S-Bridge.

The 1828 stone arch span is the backdrop for this field trip.

Kids learned old-fashioned schoolyard games, they climbed into antique cars and painted pumpkins.

But this year, there was an added real-life lesson.

The *newer* Blaine Bridge is in the middle of a complete repair and deck replacement, and ODOT employees were on hand to explain it.

You know the bridge was originally built in 1932, and here we are, rehabilitating the bridge, and it's been an exciting week on the project, as we have removed all the beams on the bridge. So there are 400 box beams, and a
