WEST FRANKFORT — When city officials and the Chamber of Commerce cut the ribbon on a new Starbucks in August 2024, it was touted as a highly visible addition to one of Southern Illinois’ busiest commercial corridors. Just over a year later, the store is set to close its doors.

Starbucks confirmed that the last day the store in West Frankfort will be open is Saturday. According to officials from Starbucks, it’s part of a national restructuring effort that has led to hundreds of closures across the country.
