MARION — These days, it feels like everyone has a doorbell camera or security camera of some sort. They are intended to keep people's homes safe, but soon they could also come in handy for police investigations.

The Marion Police Department announced a new public safety program which would keep a registry of residential or business surveillance cameras. This information is voluntarily provided by residents or businesses.
