PHOENIX (KVOA) - Arizona's education leaders are tackling the pressing issues facing schools in the state, focusing on early childhood education, teacher retention and the integration of technology. A town hall meeting in Phoenix brought together experts to discuss these challenges and potential solutions.

Experts emphasized the importance of early childhood education, noting that only one-third of Arizona's 3 and 4-year-olds are enrolled in preschool, which is below the national average.

"But those wonderful outcomes depend on two things: access and quality. And in Arizona, we are lacking in both of those places," said Shantel Meek of the Children's Equity Project.
