New Hanover County officials held a press conference on Sept. 26 to discuss preparations for potential storm impacts from the tropical systems developing in the Atlantic.
New Hanover County Emergency Management Director Steven Still urged residents not to wait to prepare.
"We're tracking a developing system off of our coast," Still said, referring to Invest 94L . "This system is not yet named. Conditions strongly favor its development over the next couple of days, so preparations matter right now more than a storm name."
"This system is interacting with two other low pressure systems in the area, one over the Appalachians...and Hurricane Humberto," Still said. "The interaction with these three systems is making the forecast highly uncertain over the next few days."
"We know the syst
