The Parade of Nations, scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, has been canceled, according to a website for the 47th International Folk Festival in downtown Fayetteville. Other activities in the event, which concludes Sunday, are still scheduled, the website states.
The Parade of Nations, where participants march on Hay Street with flags representing cultures in the city, is traditionally a centerpiece event of the festival, one of the city’s largest events. The website did not say if the parade, which expected to have more than 1,000 participants, will be rescheduled.
