A beloved Minneapolis music venue is launching a community-powered fundraising campaign in an effort to save the venue from closing.
The Hook and Ladder Theater at East Lake Street and Minnehaha Avenue has been a staple in the neighborhood for the last decade, hosting everything from concerts and community gatherings.
But a spike in costs, slow ticket sales, and changing audience habits have jeopardized the future of the venue.
"Without immediate support, our doors could close," an Instagram post by the venue reads.
Their goal is to raise $75,000 by Oct. 31 to "cover critical operational costs and ensure our stages continue to host live music, charity fundraisers, and cultural events for another decade."
