Three people were injured, one seriously, in a shooting early Saturday morning in the 900 block of East Broadway.
One suspect is in custody, said Brian McNeil, Columbia Police Department's spokesperson.
Police responded to shots fired around 1:43 a.m. A man and two women were shot, McNeil said. All three were taken to a local hospital, one woman with serious, life-threatening injuries.
The shooting occurred as thousands of people have returned to Columbia for the University of Missouri's annual Homecoming festivities, and just hours before the annual Homecoming parade is set to travel down Broadway.
The university sent out an alert about five minutes after the shooting, warning people to avoid the area.
