A swimmer in Waterbury has been taken to the hospital after being rescued unresponsive from the water at East Mountain Reservoir, authorities said.
Upon arrival, fire authorities said the swimmer, a 30-year-old male, was several hundred yards away from the parking area.

The Waterbury Fire Department said they deployed their boat and Aqua Eye, a specialized device, to locate the victim beneath the water.
The victim was removed from the water at 5:33 p.m. and transported to St. Mary's Hospital, fire officials said.
The family is being interviewed by the Waterbury Police Department.
