BUFFALO -- There were flashes of a competitive team in the Rawlins Outlaws last football game.

Though they fell 39-14 to the Buffalo Bison, it was the first game all season that the Outlaws scored more than one touchdown. It was also the fewest points they have given up in a single game.

Rawlins did something on their opening drive that it usually takes them a lot longer to do: convert a first down. There was also something else noticeably different about the Outlaw offense. Chris Gonzalez was given the start at quarterback for the first time since last season.

This opening drive still resulted in a punt, but it was a promising start from a team that struggles to get their engine fired up.
