DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - At Clyde Iron Works, the Duluth community showed its outpouring of support for a young community member gone too soon.
18-year-old Shimia Nord passed away peacefully on September 15th with family and friends by her side, after more than two years of battling kidney cancer.
On Sunday, more than a hundred people showed up for her celebration of life with their love, tears, and memories shared throughout the day.
Everyone in attendance was asked to write their favorite memory with Shimia.
“I know I’m probably going to miss her bursting in the door, telling me she needs to do something. I just miss in general, her voice, I mean, she was my Irish twin, so it does feel like a part of me is missing. I’m waiting for her to show up,” said her brother Cameron
