Check your mailbox! Millions of inflation refund checks were sent to New Yorkers Friday.

In May Governor Kathy Hochul confirmed inflation refund checks will be mailed to millions of eligible New Yorkers this fall. Hochul has committed to putting more money in resident's pockets but will YOU be receiving one of these checks?

In December of 2024, Governor Hochul stated that New York State made "unprecedented revenues" in sales tax and she would like to give some of that money back to help residents with the high cost of living. According to a press release , recipients do not need to apply for this refund and there is nothing to sign up for.
