TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - Ohio is making some changes to driver’s education requirements for new drivers. Starting this week, more people will need to get in the classroom before getting behind the wheel.

When you’re driving on the road, you may come across a car with “student driver” emblazoned on the back. That means one thing. You’re behind someone in driver’s ed.

It’s an experience many Ohioans like Judith Koranteng went through before turning 18.

“I got my driver’s license at 16, so I was required to go to driving school or take driver’s ed,” said Judith Koranteng.

Koranteng said she’s seen how the classes made a difference.

“Definitely prepared me more than my counterparts that did not do driver’s ed,” Koranteng said.
