WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - A homeless man is being held in the Jefferson County jail after being accused of using counterfeit money to buy a bicycle.
Watertown police charged 39-year-old Bryant Sanford with a felony count of criminal possession of a forged instrument and a misdemeanor count of petit larceny.
According to police, Sanford used prop money used in movies to buy a $75 bicycle from a man in Watertown in August.
Prop money resembles real cash but is marked with phrases such as “Motion Picture Use Only.”
Sanford was arrested on Sunday on Franklin Street.
He was arraigned and is being held without bail in the county jail.
