KENT COUNTY, MI – Grandville Public Schools on Monday, Sept. 29, cancelled afternoon bus service in response to an emailed threat that a bomb had been placed on a school bus.
Grandville police said that the threat originated from an email provider outside of the U.S. Police and the school district are taking the threat seriously and conducting a full investigation, police said.
The anonymous threat was emailed at 11:19 a.m. Monday. It said that a bomb was placed on a Grandville Public Schools bus.
The district’s buses are being searched by police.
“In an abundance of caution, we are unable to provide afternoon school bus transportation today,” Superintendent Roger Bearup said in a letter to parents.
“As a result, all students who normally ride the bus will need alternative transportat
