An off-duty Metro Transit police officer with a prior DWI conviction is suspected of drunk driving in Maplewood.

Tyler Lolychi Lo, 32, of St. Paul, faces DWI-related charges in the Twin Cities for the third time.

Minnesota court records show that Lo has a prior DWI conviction, from 2014, and he was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in 2013, but was ultimately found guilty of careless driving.

The latest incident happened on July 19 near the intersection of Nebraska Avenue and White Bear Avenue in Maplewood.

According to the criminal complaint, Lo was pulled over around 2 a.m. after a police officer saw that he was driving approximately 27 mph in a 40 mph zone and not wearing a seatbelt.
