The Calgary Flames are still evaluating.

No final decision has been made on whether Martin Pospisil will start the season on the wing or at centre.

The 25-year-old, though, knows where he wants to play.

“I thought I was going to start at centre when I started the first game, but all of a sudden it changed,” Pospisil said Monday from the Scotiabank Saddledome. “It doesn’t really matter if I play centre or wing, whatever helps the team win … personally I’d like to play as a centre, but it’s more of a coach’s decision.”

While he broke through as an NHLer as a winger two years ago, the Flames have experimented with moving Pospisil to the middle of the ice. He spent the early days of last season at centre, but his game seemed to round into form when he was moved back to the wing.
