A three-member Alberta Court of Appeal panel said there were errors in the conviction of Robert Daignault
Alberta’s top court has overturned the manslaughter conviction of a city man in the fatal stabbing of a Calgary Uber driver nearly six years ago.
In a unanimous decision released Monday, a three-member Alberta Court of Appeal panel agreed with defence counsel Andrea Serink there were errors in the conviction of Robert Daignault .

But the appeal judges said despite issues with the prosecution’s two critical witnesses, they declined Serink’s application for an outright acquittal and ordered a new trial.
