BOSTON -- Jayson Tatum took an important step in his recovery from an Achilles tear last week and is ready to begin the Celtics season watching from the sidelines as he continues his recovery.

On Monday’s Celtics Media Day at the Auerbach Center, the All-Star forward spoke positively about his progress four months removed from the brutal injury suffered at Madison Square Garden.

“Yeah I’m in a really good spot,” Tatum said. “It’s been a long journey. It’s tough to answer that question in 45 seconds. But I think for me, there’s been bright spots: getting back on the court, being able to participate in a basketball workout was definitely one of the more bight spots in this journey.
