FARMINGTON, Conn — A man died and another was hurt after a van hit them on Interstate 84 east in Farmington Sunday morning.
Connecticut State Police said the collision happened on the highway at 9:12 a.m.
The two men parked separate vehicles along the right shoulder of the highway, just before exit 17, including a Nissan Rogue and a Kenworth T880 truck.
Both men were outside their vehicles when a RAM ProMaster van traveling on the right side of the highway hit them for an unknown reason, state police said. The van then collided with both vehicles.
Adam Peppe, 34, who parked the Nissan Rogue, had life-threatening injuries and was taken to the University of Connecticut Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The passenger in the Nissan was uninjured.
