PASQUOTANK COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - The final inmate charged in the 2017 murders of four prison employees in Pasquotank County pleaded guilty this morning.

Seth Frazier pled guilty to four counts of first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, six counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury, burning public building, inciting riot, attempted escape, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Frazier was given four consecutive life in prison without parole terms on the murder counts, plus 93 to 166 years on the remaining charges.

Geoffrey Howe, Justin Smith, Wendy Shannon, and Veronica Darden were killed on October 12, 2017, when four inmates tried to escape the Pasquotank Correctional Institution.
