ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WITN) - Elizabeth City police have identified a teenager who they say snatched a woman’s purse earlier this month, leaving her with a hand injury.

Police say 17-year-old Anthony White, of the 100 block of Majesty Court in Elizabeth City, is wanted on an armed robbery charge.

Officers responded to the 800 block of Halstead Boulevard on the morning of September 5th after an elderly woman reported that her purse had been stolen. Police say the purse snatcher ran into the woods behind Roses after the robbery.

White is considered armed and dangerous. If spotted, police urge the public not to approach him.
