LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Governor Joe Lombardo announced Monday, Nevada’s new Superintendent of Public Instruction, Dr. Victor Wakefield.
“Victor is the right leader at the right time for Nevada’s public education system,” Lombardo said. “He received a unanimous recommendation from the State Board of Education—a testament to his qualifications, vision, and commitment to improving outcomes for all students.”
Wakefield began his career as a middle school English teacher in Gary, Indiana, and later recruited teachers nationwide through Teach For America (TFA). He led training for 250 educators in Clark County, impacting more than 15,000 students.
