LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- September is Hunger Action Month, and a local partnership is tackling food insecurity in the Las Vegas valley.
The Just One Project and The Venetian Resort are turning what would normally be food waste into meals that feed the community.
At the end of every convention at The Venetian, hundreds of leftover meals are packaged and delivered to nonprofits across the valley – bringing fresh, nutritious food to those who need it most.
“It takes hot, fresh food, directly from the Strip and provides warm meals, or cold meals depending on what they’re getting, directly into community centers just like this that have issues with food insecurity, and it’s really an amazing way to not have any waste,” Founder and CEO of The Just One Project, Brooke Neubauer said.
