LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- A 40-year-old ex-Marine crashed a pickup into a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church in Grand Blanc, Michigan Sunday, setting the building on fire and firing at the congregation with an assault rifle. At least four people were killed and eight more were injured.

The incident was one of a dozen mass shootings in the state so far this year and the deadliest in six mass shootings reported in the U.S. over the weekend.

Michigan's last reported mass shooting before Sunday's incident was Sept. 20, when four people were injured near Western Michigan University's campus. The state did not report a mass shooting until May 9, when two in southeast Michigan -- one in Detroit and one in Eastpointe -- resulted in three deaths and six injuries. Since then, Michig
