RICHMOND, Calif. (Gray News) – A UPS employee in California was killed in an accident at a UPS facility, according to local reports.
Richmond police tell KGO that Shelma Reyna, a mother of five, was killed on the job Sept. 21.
Preliminary investigation revealed Reyna was loading packages into a cargo trailer when several packages fell onto her.
Police said she was alone at the time.
A coworker later discovered Reyna underneath the packages and called for help.
Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, Reyna was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to KTVU , OSHA is investigating.
UPS said in a statement to KGO that they are cooperating with authorities.
Reyna’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for funeral expenses.
