OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Having a good foundation is the key to a safe home.

But this time of year, fall droughts bring dry soil and some potential problems for homeowners.

James Hartkorn is a new homeowner. While it may be fresh to him, it definitely has some character.

“When you buy a new home, especially one that’s older, there’s going to be some things and issues we got to take a look at and of course the foundation is certainly something we want to make sure is secure,” Hartkorn said.
