MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - After 34 years, the Austin Police Department has confirmed that Robert Brashers is the suspect behind the 1991 “Yogurt Shop murders.”
He’s responsible for tying up, shooting and burning four teenage girls in a fire at an “I can’t believe it’s yogurt” shop.
Investigators say his crime spree started in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1990, where he raped and strangled a woman in her apartment.
The Yogurt Shop murders happened the next year in Texas.
In 1997, Brasher tied up three women in a Memphis home and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.
The year after that, he killed a woman and her 12-year-old daughter in Missouri–and sexually assaulted the child. Hours later, he tried to break into a Dyersburg, Tennessee, home and shot a woman. She survived.
