ANNISTON, Ala. (WIAT) -- The city of Anniston has been awarded $750,000 through the Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grants Program to go toward the Main Street Anniston business district.
The money will go specifically to help historic property owners make restorations or bring buildings up to code.
"Downtown is the heartbeat of your community," said Jackson Hodges, the public relations director for the city. "It’s the lifeblood, and I tell you, ours has been beating a lot harder and a lot stronger over the last five years.
