EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Parents in Columbia County came together Monday night for the first “Let’s Talk” event of the school year.
It’s a meeting focused on building connections with students and addressing safety concerns in schools.
The event comes just days after the death of 11-year-old Aiden Lee, a Harlem Middle School student.
At the meeting, the issue of bullying dominated the conversation. One message repeated throughout the night: parents should check in with their children often to ensure they feel safe at school.
Eli Oglesby, who usually makes sports and business apparel, has been printing shirts in Aiden’s memory.
