Dressed in rubber hip waders, I tentatively stepped into a cranberry bog with thousands of kilograms of ripe fruit ready to harvest and the sounds of farm equipment hard at work around me. I’m not noted for my coordination at the best of times, and I was pretty sure if I took a tumble in the bog, it would take days to get all the cranberries out of the hip waders. Fortunately, the walk to the middle was uneventful and as I stood surrounded by a sea of waist-deep tiny red orbs, I couldn’t help thinking that this was one of the coolest things I had ever done.
