OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A disabled senior citizen has lived for months next to a growing eyesore in North Omaha.

The neighboring property owner has received violation notices from the city, which have been ignored.

A First Alert 6 investigation discovered a cleanup underway Monday, but those doing the work may surprise you.

Near 43rd Street and Ames Avenue, Floyd Bey, 74, said he’s been raising Cain about an overgrown strip of land next door.

“It’s a heck of a dumping ground, look at all the garbage that’s inside of it,” said Floyd Bey.

And it’s not just what he sees that stinks.

”There was a dead carcass of a dog right there where you are standing at. The humane society had to come down and get it out of here," he said.
