ROCK HILL, S.C. — A 15-year-old has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of 14-year-old Braylen Jackson , whose family is now grappling with grief and funeral costs.

Jackson, a Rock Hill High School freshman who aspired to play football at Louisiana State University, was killed in what his family described as an unexpected tragedy. His older sister, Tania Jackson, said the incident has devastated their family.

"This has changed our whole life," Tania Jackson said. "I'm broken, but I'm just being there for them the best I can as the oldest daughter."

Jackson's mother was unable to speak publicly about her son's death.
