COLUMBIA COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV) - A Madison resident is facing charges after leading deputies with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on a chase last week, officials reported on Monday.

According to a Facebook post by the Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was on patrol in the Town of Lodi when he saw a vehicle make a traffic violation.

As the deputy was chasing the vehicle, the driver turned into a private home, drove through the yard and came out directly in front of the deputy’s squard car.

Officials said the deputy immediately tried to pull the vehicle over but the driver allegedly sped away.

The deputy chased after the vehicle that was allegedly driving recklessly. According to the sheriff’s office, the vehicle crashed on Richards Road near Kohn Road.
